Non Cardo unit volume too loud dmc mode

I’ve joined my pillion Rider to the dmc network with my spouse connecting on a Cardo unit via dmc.

The volume set so I can hear my wife makes my pillion rider child so loud it hurts my ears. Set for a comfortable volume of my pillion rider I can’t hear my wife.

Can someone advise how to correct?
